Bad Betty DuPree is a character in Sparks Nevada, Marshal on Mars. She is played by Paget Brewster.
History[]
Bad Betty DuPree is the worst curse in the universe. She enjoy pulling the wings off of things that can fly. She's the most violent streak of diagnosed obsessive-compulsive disorder this side of Jupiter.
Bad Betty DuPree and her partner, Doctor Diagonal, were the greatest outlaws the galaxy had ever seen when Sparks Nevada caught Doctor Diagonal and turned him over to the USSA. He ratted DuPree out, causing her to get caught by the USSA and go on trial. Sparks Nevada testified at this trial for a very short time. She was sentenced to hang.
DuPree eventually broke out and decided to kill literally everyone involved with her trial, including the jury, who only took her 12 seconds to find her guilty, the stenographer (she was surprisingly dexterous), and the audience. Sparks Nevada was the last name on her list.
Diagonal, an alien who can regenerate once after death, was angry at DuPree for killing him, put a gas in the air in the Space Saloon which caused all present, including Croach the Tracker, The Red Plains Rider, Felton, and the Barkeep, to turn into clones of Sparks. As Betty has OCD, Diagonal knew that she could only kill Sparks Nevada once. If she killed more than one Sparks Nevada, her OCD would cause her to want to resurrect and kill everyone else involved in her trial once for every Sparks Nevada she killed. Diagonal planned to kill all of the Nevadas in front of DuPree, preventing her from ever being able to complete her plan. It would also be revenge against Sparks Nevada for forcing him to go against his best friend in court.
When Diagonal showed up and confessed his plan, DuPree admitted that she thought of Diagonal as her best friend as well. The two reconciled, but before they could do any more evil, the real Sparks Nevada shot the weapons out of their hands, then arrested them and turned them back over to the USSA.
