This entry is for the planet of Mars in the Thrilling Adventure Hour's Sparks Nevada, Marshal on Mars universe. For the actual planet of Mars, see Mars.

Mars (Martian: G'loot Praktaw, also the Red Planet) is the fourth planet from the Sun in the solar system. It is currently inhabited by Martians, lavamenRobots, humans, aliens, and many other creatures.

History[]

In the not-too-distant future from our present time, Martians tried to invade Earth. They failed, as they have a really bad nut allergy. (War of Two Worlds)

There has apparently been a much more recent Martian-Human war as well, which was raging while Croach the Tracker was a youngling.

Some time after the first Human-Martian war, Earthlings terraformed and then colonised Mars. Mars still requires gravity emitters to have gravity, however. If these are turned off, everything in the area will float into space.

Mars is governed by a Mayor. Although Cactoid Jim has served as Mayor of Mars, he resigned after mere months. The current mayor of Mars is Barkeep. Mars is also under the authority of the Mars-Earth Coalition.

Geography[]

  • Mars has been terraformed, though the plains of Mars are still red.
  • There is now water on Mars again, and lakes that are both natural and man made.
  • There is a large geographical region filled with volcanoes. This appears to be on the other side of Mars as the main human town.
  • There are several smaller human settlements on Mars other than the main town.
  • There are polar ice caps near at least one of the poles of Mars. For a time, these ice caps were used as a robot prison, until John Steelhands melted a portion of them, causing a major flood which nearly killed many martians and humans until Sparks Nevada lassoed up the flood with a wormhole generator. This caused Barlok the Wise to place the entire tribe under onus to Sparks Nevada, and sent Croach the Tracker to assist Sparks to repay this onus.
