Rusty is a character in Sparks Nevada, Marshal on Mars. He is played by Chris Hardwick.
History[]
Rusty is an android who was deputy to the first Marshal on Mars, Simon Pure. Rusty exhibited a tic in which he would often repeat the last word of a sentence he spoke. He had a somewhat clipped and slightly mechanical voice, but like all androids, was human-like in appearance and had full rights and personhood.
Much like Sparks Nevada and Croach the Tracker, Simon and Rusty had a slightly contentious partnership, wherein they were often bickering. Pure later admitted that he was somewhat of an android racist at the time, and often called Rusty names like "bucket of bolts". Despite this, they worked together well.
When The Halley’s Comet Gang attacked Mars sometimes around 2934, Rusty sacrificed himself to save Pure and the Martians who had hidden in the planet's tunnels.
While Rusty was dying, Simon realized and admitted that Rusty was his best friend, and continued to miss his presence, even into his old age.
